I barely noticed Eric’s first pair of teeth. He wasn’t behaving any differently; the only unusual thing was pink spots on his cheeks. Just before he turned 6 months, one day I was feeding him, when he grabbed my finger, pulled it into his mouth and I felt something sharp poking me – that was his first tooth. A couple of days later Rob and I noticed the second one, right next to the first.
I always thought about his first teeth with fear. Why? Mostly because of the stories many “experienced” people readily told me about how he will bite me the first chance he has – but guess what, he didn’t!
